Description
Wyckoff price structure, automated for MT5
EA #002 — Wyckoff is a configurable MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor that follows trading ranges, Spring and UTAD sweeps, strength or weakness breaks and LPS/LPSY retests. It uses ordinary time-based candles on the active chart timeframe. This is a rule-based price-structure adaptation of Wyckoff, with 94 documented inputs, rather than a complete discretionary volume or point-and-figure method.

Understand the Wyckoff strategy behind EA002
Our illustrated guide explains the history, market cycle, accumulation, distribution, Spring, UTAD and confirmation. Use it alongside the robot manual to distinguish a developing structure from a valid entry signal.
How BUY and SELL signals develop
The robot looks for a fresh transition into a qualifying setup on completed candles. A label is not an automatic order: enabled quality, execution, trading-hour, position and license checks must also pass. The quality score measures rule alignment; it is not a probability of winning.
BUY: Spring → SOS → LPS → confirmation
A Spring sweeps below the range and reclaims it. A sign of strength (SOS) breaks local structure upward; an LPS retest and, when enabled, a bullish closed candle complete the setup. The supplied preset requires confirmation, disables direct SOS entries and does not require a separate Test stage.

SELL: UTAD → SOW → LPSY → confirmation
An UTAD sweeps above the range and returns inside it. A sign of weakness (SOW) breaks local structure downward; an LPSY retest and the configured bearish confirmation complete the short setup. Optional filters can still reject the order.

Actual entries from the supplied tester report
These examples come from the original deal ledger. They illustrate execution and exits, not guaranteed outcomes. Times are the report’s broker-server timestamps.
| Example | Entry | Initial SL / TP | Reported exit |
|---|---|---|---|
| BUY, 0.18 lots | 26 Nov 2021, 16:00 1.12937 | SL 1.12115 TP 1.14827 | 14 Jan 2022, 06:43:38 TP at 1.14827 |
| SELL, 0.58 lots | 14 Feb 2022, 12:00 1.13135 | SL 1.13423 TP 1.12473 | 14 Feb 2022, 13:43:41 SL fill at 1.13424 |
The BUY held for several weeks; the SELL reached its stop on the entry day. A valid Wyckoff setup can lose. The ledger alone does not establish the exact earlier Spring/UTAD candle, so the diagrams above explain the rules without inventing missing historical structure.
Risk, execution and exits
Choose market entries or pending stop orders beyond the signal candle. Money management includes equity-percentage sizing and fixed lots. Initial stops can use confirmed swings or previous daily pivots; targets include risk/reward and other configurable modes. Optional trailing, pyramiding and active-timeframe structure exits provide further control.
The supplied EURUSD H4 preset uses 3% equity risk, a previous D1 pivot stop, RR 2.3, no trailing and no pyramiding. ExitMode 4 manages exits through SL/TP and configured money/time rules. Trading hours are 08:00–22:00 in broker-server time; end-of-session closing is disabled. The 3% setting is an example, not a live-risk recommendation. With SL_NONE, the swing is a sizing reference, not a virtual stop.

This supplied historical test has not been independently rerun; 49 trades are a limited sample, not proof of robustness or future performance.

Which markets and timeframes?
Start research with the supplied EURUSD H4 configuration. The EA evaluates signals on the timeframe of its attached chart: switching to H1 changes the strategy calculations. H1, GBPUSD, USDJPY and other MT5 instruments require separate presets, broker-specific costs, unseen-data tests and demo observation. There is no supplied evidence that this preset works on those markets.

Configure and optimize step by step
Begin with the supplied EURUSD H4 preset and verify data quality, costs and contract specifications. Adjust range size, structure sensitivity and the quality threshold first. Then evaluate confirmation and retest limits, followed by risk and exit rules. Freeze the selected configuration and test on a separate unseen period; compare drawdown, trade count and costs as well as profit.
Frequently asked questions
Does this robot need Renko or an external indicator?
No. EA002 uses standard candles on the active chart timeframe and calculates its structure internally.
Can I use H1 instead of H4?
Yes, the signal timeframe follows the chart. The supplied preset and report are H4; H1 needs its own validation and may produce very different signals.
Why can a setup appear without an order?
Quality, confirmation, hours, spread, position limits, license status or broker execution restrictions can prevent a new entry. Review the dashboard and MT5 Experts/Journal logs.
Do the optional Test and pivot filters always apply?
No. The supplied preset disables the separate Test requirement and the D1 pivot entry filter. Its initial stop can still use D1 pivots: the stop mode and entry filter are separate settings.
Do I receive the source code?
No. The customer package includes the compiled EX5, SET, manual and quick start, with no MQ5 or MQH files.
How many MT5 accounts does a license support?
Each purchased robot has its own license with a limit of two account/server combinations. A different broker server counts as a different combination. EA002 activation verification is part of the pending release checks.
Version 1.25
This release cleans up default empty Text labels while retaining meaningful signal labels and the existing strategy logic. The supplied code matches our v1.25 source; the report and EX5 filename identify the same version. Runtime verification remains pending.
Validation status
The compiled EX5 and protected customer package are available for purchase. The supplied historical report has been checked against its deal ledger and preset. Independent MT5 runtime and activation checks and an end-to-end customer purchase have not been completed; this page does not claim they have passed.
Trading can lead to loss of some or all capital. Historical results do not guarantee future performance. Configure, backtest on unseen periods and test on demo before any live use. Questions: ea@ea-lab.dev.
