Tori Trades-inspired Trendline Break Strategy
Inspired by Tori Trades’ Trendline Strategy
Based on the trendline concepts presented in Tori Trades’ full guide. Independently developed by EA LAB; no affiliation or endorsement is claimed.
A respected action line defines the opportunity. An opposing safety line defines when the idea stops working.

From discretionary trendlines to explicit MT5 rules
Tori’s guide starts with market structure and wick-based trendlines. EA007 turns the illustrated three-touch breakout and opposing safety-line approach into configurable rules on ordinary candles. Automatic pivots are a mechanical interpretation; manual named trendlines let you choose the geometry yourself.

Two sides of the same setup
BUY: break above resistance
Find a descending action line respected by at least three confirmed wick touches. A break above it can trigger BUY only when a rising opposing safety line supplies initial protection below entry.
SELL: break below support
Find a rising action line with at least three confirmed touches. A break beneath it can trigger SELL only when a descending opposing safety line provides protection above entry.

Keep the safety exit separate from Stop Loss trailing
The EA evaluates the stored opposing safety line before considering replacements. BUY closes below its rising safety boundary; SELL closes above its descending boundary. PRICE_BREAK uses executable bid/ask, while CANDLE_CLOSE uses the latest completed signal candle. A protective broker SL is also placed at entry.
InpTrailSafetyLine optionally moves broker SL along that line, tightening only. InpAllowNewSafetyLine optionally adopts newer, steeper and tighter confirmed profit lines. InpMinProfitSlopeATR measures minimum movement per candle in ATR units, so chart zoom does not change the threshold.
If no qualifying steep line exists, the EA keeps its existing SL and original safety exit. It does not invent geometry or guarantee a maximum profit giveback.
Optional profit-taking at an opposing line
InpCloseAtOppositeLine=true can close a profitable BUY at confirmed resistance ahead of price, or a profitable SELL at support below price. A known target is drawn purple. This option closes at touch or a gap through the line rather than waiting for a bounce. The example report has this option disabled.
What is configurable?
Execution timeframe, automatic/manual lines, higher-timeframe refinement, swing confirmation, touch spacing and tolerance, breakout confirmation/buffer, entry hours/spread, safety exits, initial risk and fixed lots. One qualifying attempt per action line is enabled by default; blocked breaks are not chased later.
| Parameter | What it changes |
|---|---|
| InpSignalTF | The candle timeframe used for entries and safety geometry. H4 is the supplied example. |
| InpLineSource / InpTopDown | Automatic confirmed pivots or your named chart lines; automatic top-down refinement is optional. |
| InpPivotWing | Bars on either side required to confirm a swing. Larger values delay confirmation and reduce small pivots. |
| InpMinTouchSpacing / InpMinLineSpan | Minimum spacing between touches and total line span, both measured in signal candles. |
| InpTouchToleranceATR | Maximum allowed pivot-to-line distance in ATR units; controls which touches qualify. |
| InpBreakConfirmation / InpBreakBufferATR | Intrabar price break or completed-candle confirmation, with an optional breakout distance. |
| InpSLBufferATR | Initial broker Stop Loss buffer beyond the opposing safety line. |
| InpTrailSafetyLine / InpAllowNewSafetyLine | Tighten broker SL along the active safety line and optionally adopt newer, steeper safety lines. |
| InpMinProfitSlopeATR / InpCloseAtOppositeLine | Minimum qualifying profit-line slope and optional profitable closure at opposing support/resistance. |
| InpRiskPercent / InpFixedLot | Balance risk or fixed volume, depending on the chosen money-management mode. Source default risk is 1%; the historical preset uses 3%. |
| InpOptimizationMinTrades / InpOptimizationMaxDDPercent | Editable Custom max gates: 40 trades and 35% relative equity DD by default. These gates are excluded from optimization. |
Research standard: Custom max
v1.04 adds EA LAB’s constrained net-profit criterion: default minimum 40 trades and maximum 35% relative equity drawdown, both editable and excluded from optimization. Choose Custom max in MT5. The supplied v1.04 test uses minimum 35 trades and maximum 35% equity DD; its 66 trades also meet the default 40-trade threshold.

Balance reconstructed from report deals, including swaps and commissions. This is not an equity curve. Example uses candle-close entries, SL trailing off and opposite-line profit exit off. No forward/out-of-sample report supplied. Historical performance does not guarantee future results.
Limits of this implementation
Confirmed pivots are delayed; missing higher-timeframe history can block entries; broker spread, tick size and stop limits can prevent execution. A discretionary trader’s exact anchor choices cannot be reproduced automatically. The owner’s screenshots do not preserve every historical setup line, so they are visual examples rather than a complete pre-entry audit.
