TradingView and cTrader adaptations are paid products, including adaptations of free MT5 robots. Standard price: €24.95 per robot, per platform.

TradingView

Receive a Pine Script strategy based on the MT5 robot’s core trading rules, with chart signals, alerts and backtesting in TradingView’s Strategy Tester. Some MT5 features may be modified or unavailable. Signals, execution and backtest results may differ. The script does not place live broker orders by itself. External automation services and setup are not included.

Scope: Turtle System 2 (55-bar entry / 20-bar exit) and configurable channel lengths from completed OHLC bars; BUY/SELL breakouts, Wilder ATR/N protective stop, optional N-based pyramiding (up to four units), optional SMA direction filter and ATR trailing. Entry/exit markers, channel/stop levels, strategy backtesting and alerts.

Limitations: Pine scope excludes Turtle S1 virtual previous-winner tracking and failsafe, equity drawdown risk reduction and broker-wide campaign-risk checks. Breakout orders are simulated stop entries, not the MT5 tick-by-tick market-entry implementation. Position size is configured in strategy settings. Pine Script v6 on standard time-based OHLC charts. Historical fills use TradingView broker-emulator assumptions; tick sequencing, spread, broker lot/margin checks, MT5 licensing/panel and Custom Max optimization are not reproduced. No guaranteed identical signals or results. No live broker execution or external connector/setup included.

Receive a cTrader cBot based on the MT5 robot’s core trading rules, within the reviewed scope. Includes source code, required launch files and instructions. A cBot can place automated orders when enabled in a compatible cTrader environment. Platform APIs, broker data and execution may differ from MT5; identical results are not promised.

Scope: Turtle S1/S2/custom closed-bar channels, S1 virtual winner-skip and failsafe, Wilder N, long/short tick-driven breakout entries, N-based additions with unit cap, physical stops, channel exit, SMA/spread filters, fixed-volume or stop-risk sizing, campaign-risk cap, optional ATR trailing and drawdown risk reduction. Chart levels and trade markers.

Limitations: cTrader C# Algo API and broker data/execution differ from MT5. Broker specifications and time-zone/week boundaries must be configured and tested. MT5 licensing, exact panel styling and MT5 Custom Max optimizer are not ported. No identical signals, fills or results are promised.

Description

Free Turtle Breakout Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5

EA #004 turns a defined price-channel breakout into a configurable MT5 strategy: enter a developing trend, size positions from volatility and exit when the move fails. Version 1.01 is a free downloadable robot for hedging accounts, with 41 documented inputs, optional favorable-move pyramiding and a compact dark chart interface.

Read the Turtle Trading strategy: original rules, historical research and EA004 implementation. This single-symbol CFD adaptation does not reproduce the original diversified futures portfolio.

Entry, exit and exposure rules

  • System 1: 20-bar entry / 10-bar exit, virtual previous-winner skip and 55-bar failsafe.
  • System 2: 55-bar entry / 20-bar exit without the previous-winner filter.
  • Custom: editable entry and exit channel lengths. The active candle is excluded; entry uses a tick breakout beyond prior closed-bar extremes.
  • Volatility N: true-range smoothing on completed signal bars; campaign N sets the initial stop and pyramid spacing.
  • Exit: broker hard stop at StopN × N, opposite channel exit, optional ATR trailing that never loosens a stop. No fixed take profit.
  • Risk: risk at the actual stop, original-style 1N sizing or fixed lots. Optional additions follow favorable price movement, up to four units; the campaign cap applies to this EA’s symbol, not a coordinated multi-market portfolio.

D1 is the source default. H4 presets are separate research configurations: 55 H4 bars are not 55 days. Optional SMA ordering and spread limits filter new entries; exits must remain active. Channel exits require MT5 and its connection to keep running.

Two supplied historical backtests

These are v1.00 reports, not a newly rerun v1.01 test. Both use H4, OANDA TMS Brokers S.A. data, 1 January 2020–1 October 2026, USD 50,000 deposit and 1:100 leverage. Version 1.01 updates chart appearance. Historical results do not guarantee future performance.

Both presets use System 2 (55/20), 3% unit risk, a 4% own-symbol campaign cap, up to four units and 0.5N addition spacing. The MA filter, ATR trailing and drawdown risk reduction are disabled in these examples. These are historical configurations, not recommended live risk levels. Default source risk at stop is 0.5%.

EA004 v1.00 US100 H4 closed-trade balance reconstructed exactly from MT5 deals
US100 comparison: unsmoothed closed-trade balance, USD. Deposit is counted once; profit, commission and swap are reconciled to every reported balance. This is a balance curve, not continuous floating equity. GOLD’s primary curve appears above.

Both reports show 99% history quality; the explicit tester modeling selection is not provided. GOLD records zero commission and USD −33,259.45 swap; US100 records zero commission and swap. Spread assumptions are not specified. Live broker charges and execution can differ. Download both original HTML backtests with their report images.

What the free package includes

  • Compiled EA_004_Turtle_Breakout_v1_01.ex5 for MT5.
  • GOLD H4 and US100 H4 SET presets with v1.01 visual defaults; trading parameters retained.
  • Seven-page English manual, one-page Quick Start, changelog and integrity checksums.
  • Both original historical HTML reports and all referenced report images.

The customer package contains the compiled robot, not MQ5 source. Read the English user manual before installation.

Installation and activation

  1. Complete the free order and download the customer ZIP from your account.
  2. In MT5, open File → Open Data Folder. Copy the EX5 into MQL5/Experts and refresh Navigator.
  3. Use an MT5 hedging account and the broker’s exact symbol name. Load the selected SET; review timeframe, risk, magic number and trading permissions.
  4. Follow the manual’s EA004 license and WebRequest instructions. Keep credentials private; the robot uses its own EA004 identity.
  5. Run the selected configuration in Strategy Tester, then on demo. Compare trades and costs before considering live use.

Questions before downloading

Is EA004 really free?

Yes. The product price is 0. The compiled package is delivered through a free store order. Your broker can still charge spreads, commission and swap.

Does it work on netting accounts?

No. This build requires hedging accounts. Separate pyramid units and their stops must remain independently identifiable.

Can I change the channel periods?

Yes, in Custom mode. System 1 and System 2 retain their fixed channel lengths; changing Custom inputs while S2 is selected does not change S2’s 55/20 rules.

Are the results from version 1.01?

The supplied backtests identify v1.00. The download and current interface screenshots identify v1.01. Independent recompilation, live activation checks and a new broker rerun were not performed during packaging.

Does it protect a portfolio of several robots?

The campaign cap applies to EA004’s own symbol. It does not coordinate correlated positions across other chart instances or robots.

Version and risk notes

v1.01: dark native chart theme, BUY/SELL/EXIT labels and trade links. The trade, risk, execution and licensing core is retained from v1.00, apart from replacing an entry-only visual call. Supplied EX5 published as received.

Trend following can suffer repeated false breakouts and long drawdowns. Stops and risk caps cannot guarantee a maximum loss through gaps or execution failures. This is configurable software and educational information, not financial advice or a promise of returns. Read the Risk Disclosure and Terms of Use.
