Description
Trade the change in structure
EA #011 — Structure Flip is a configurable MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor that combines confirmed swing structure with the direction of five moving averages. Its core idea is simple: wait for a closed candle to break a confirmed swing level, recognise a change in market regime, and enter only while the new direction remains eligible and the filters agree.
This is a mechanical structure and trend model. A bullish regime is not an instruction to buy every candle. The robot allows one execution per flip and manages one position per symbol and magic number. It can trade both directions, with configurable stop placement, exit logic and trailing.
How a setup develops
- Confirm the swing. A pivot needs candles on both sides. The right-hand confirmation introduces a deliberate delay: an unconfirmed turning point is not a trading signal.
- Wait for a closed-candle break. A BUY flip requires the last completed candle to cross above the latest eligible confirmed swing high, including the optional ATR buffer. A SELL flip uses the equivalent break below a swing low. The previous close must be on the other side of the threshold.
- Check the moving-average direction. Select all five slopes, at least four, the three fastest, or disable this filter. The test is slope over the configured lookback, not an MA crossover or mandatory MA stacking. An optional price-position filter adds another condition.
- Use the entry window. The robot may wait for filter agreement within the configured number of bars after a flip. An opposite flip, an expired window or an already executed flip cancels eligibility.
- Define risk and manage the position. Choose a swing-based or ATR-based initial stop, fixed lots or balance-based risk, and an opposite-flip exit, fixed reward-to-risk target, or both. ATR or MA3 trailing can tighten the stop when enabled.
Continuations in an existing regime do not create fresh entries. Historical warm-up establishes context when the EA starts; it does not arm an old historical flip for immediate execution.
What the supplied GBPUSD H4 preset actually uses
The report preset uses pivot confirmation of 6 bars left and 7 bars right, five EMAs with periods 7, 20, 30, 115 and 175, and a four-bar slope lookback. At least four slopes must agree. The price-position filter is disabled, and the entry window is 12 signal bars.
The initial stop is swing-based with a 0.2 ATR buffer. The exit mode is opposite flip, with no fixed take-profit; ATR trailing is enabled at 2.5 ATR. The preset uses 5% balance risk per trade, a maximum of 10 lots, both trade directions and an ATR-relative spread filter. These are the supplied test settings, not a recommendation for live risk. Fixed-RR and ATR-initial-stop values remain in the SET but are inactive in this configuration.
Real trade examples from the supplied report
All examples below are historical tester trades. Prices and timestamps come from the original Deals table; the broker time zone is not specified. Net results include the recorded swap, with zero commission reported.
Example 1 — a BUY that exits with trailing protection
On 4 March 2025 at 12:00, the EA bought 0.14 lots of GBPUSD.pro at 1.27227, with an initial stop at 1.25525. It exited on 20 March at 11:17:25 at 1.29456. Gross profit was $312.06; after $9.95 swap, the net result was +$302.11. A stop-based exit can close a profitable trade after trailing has moved protection above entry.

Example 2 — a small BUY loss followed by a SELL
A 0.20-lot BUY opened on 23 July 2025 at 04:00 at 1.35236 and closed the following day at 1.35209. Its net result was −$7.89. A later 0.11-lot SELL opened on 28 July at 20:00 at 1.33596 and closed on 1 August at 1.32608, producing +$106.65 net. Structure can change direction; a flip is not a promise that every trade will win.

Example 3 — a losing BUY and a later bearish move
A 0.27-lot BUY opened on 30 April 2026 at 20:00 at 1.35815 and exited on 4 May at 1.35480, for −$92.69 net. A subsequent 0.26-lot SELL opened on 12 May at 20:00 at 1.35231 and exited on 18 May at 1.33985, for +$319.12 net. These are separate executions, not a recovery or martingale sequence.

Backtest evidence
The supplied MT5 report covers GBPUSD.pro, H4, 1 January 2025–1 October 2026, starting with $5,000. It records 48 trades, a $3,606.85 net profit, an ending balance of $8,606.85, a 2.43 profit factor and a 50% win rate. Maximum relative equity drawdown is 12.12% ($816.91); average trade is $75.14.
The report shows 99% history quality, 2,812 bars and 73,861,882 ticks. The exact tick-model mode, spread assumptions and execution delay are not specified in the supplied HTML. Commission entries are zero; swaps are included. The displayed balance curve is rebuilt from the original Deals table, without smoothing or invented points. It is not a continuous floating-equity series.
One trade contributes $1,580.32 net, approximately 43.81% of the total net result. The sample contains only 48 trades. Historical testing does not establish future returns or performance on another broker, symbol, period or parameter set.

Download and installation
The customer package contains the compiled v1.03 EX5, the report-matching GBPUSD H4 SET, a separate default-settings SET, the English PDF manual and the original tester report with its chart assets. The MQ5 source is not distributed.
- Complete the free checkout and retrieve the package from your WooCommerce account.
- Copy the EX5 into MQL5/Experts, refresh Navigator or restart MT5, and open the intended symbol chart.
- Load the supplied SET only for deliberate reproduction of the documented test. Review position risk and all settings before running another test or demo.
- For demo/live operation, enable algorithmic trading, allow WebRequest for https://ea-lab.dev and enter the EA011 license key from your order/account.
- Keep one instance per symbol and magic number, and verify the Experts/Journal messages.
The free product retains EA-LAB licensing: a key is assigned to EA011 and supports up to two MT5 account-login/server pairs. Strategy Tester bypasses the online license check. Live/demo operation requires a valid key and connectivity for periodic verification.
Limits and version notes
Confirmation delay can miss the start of a move, while ranging markets can create repeated reversals. Spread, slippage, broker stop restrictions, gaps and swaps affect execution and results. Trailing adjusts on completed signal bars and only tightens protection; broker-side stops may execute between bars. On netting accounts, avoid mixing this EA with manual trades or other robots on the same symbol.
Version 1.03 improves license-response validation, request encoding, grace-period timing, input validation and protection against duplicate execution of the same flip. It preserves the core strategy. This EA-LAB implementation is independently reconstructed from public structure/trend concepts inspired by TradePro material; it is not an official or affiliated product or a claim of identical proprietary logic.
