EA LAB / LIQUIDITY SWEEP + FVG / EA020 v1.01
Wait for the sweep. Trade the return.
A defined range.
A liquidity sweep.
A confirmed fair value gap.
EA #020 AMD FVG automates a mechanical accumulation-range and liquidity-sweep setup in MetaTrader 5. Instead of chasing the first move, it waits for a directional three-candle FVG and a retracement to its midpoint or outer entry edge. The order is placed at the current market quote with an initial protective SL and a configurable RR target.
Read the 16-page user manualSee original trade examples
Read the actual timeframe: the supplied GOLD_M5 SET and report use an M5 launch/display period, but InpSignalTF=M15. The range, sweep, FVG, ATR and optional EMA all use M15. The factory default is M5; loading the SET changes it.
How the entry works
BUY
Sweep below, then retrace
Build the range from closed candles immediately before the sweep. A completed candle extends below its low by the configured ATR threshold and closes strictly back inside. Three completed post-sweep candles must form a bullish FVG. Once confirmed, the current Ask must reach the selected entry threshold and remain above the sweep low.
SELL
Sweep above, then retrace
A completed candle extends above the range high and closes back inside. Three completed post-sweep candles must form a bearish FVG. The current Bid must reach the selected threshold and remain below the sweep high. The SELL conditions mirror BUY.
Range width is capped in ATR units. An optional displacement filter checks the body and direction of the middle FVG candle; it is disabled in the supplied SET. Separate confirmation and FVG-expiry counters limit setup age in signal-timeframe bars. There is no additional CHOCH, news or fixed-session range condition.
The EA uses market execution, not pending limit orders. Midpoint mode requires Ask at/below the bullish midpoint or Bid at/above the bearish midpoint. A deeper return can still qualify before the sweep extreme; both gap boundaries are not required to contain the quote.
Risk, stops and targets
BUY SL is below the sweep low minus the ATR buffer; SELL SL is above the sweep high plus the buffer. Stop levels are rounded outward to the symbol tick size. TP uses the current entry-to-SL distance multiplied by RR. The supplied preset uses RR 3.50 and 3% of current balance; the factory RR default is 2.0.
Risk-percent mode uses the symbol’s one-lot stop-loss value to size the order and floors volume to its lot step. Fixed lot is available separately. Lot limits, spread, broker stop distances, margin, licensing, trading hours and the optional EMA filter can prevent an order. Calculated volume outside allowed limits is skipped rather than silently capped.
There is one own position per symbol + magic number. No martingale, pyramiding, trailing stop, break-even, partial TP or forced end-of-day close is implemented. Waiting setups are stored in memory and reset on reinitialization. Broker-side SL/TP remain attached to existing positions.
Important: opposite-AMD exit in v1.01
The option is visible, but the current sequence resets the setup after entry and detects another sweep only while no own position exists. It therefore does not normally create a fresh opposite setup during an open trade. Do not rely on this option as an effective opposite-signal exit. The supplied report uses EXIT_RR (0).
Supplied historical backtest
| Context / metric | Reported value |
|---|---|
| EA / broker / symbol | v1.01 / OANDA TMS Brokers S.A. / GOLD.pro |
| Period / chart / signal | 2025.01.01 – 2026.10.01 / M5 / M15 |
| Deposit / leverage / risk | 5,000.00 USD / 1:100 / 3% balance risk |
| Net profit / final balance | 12,458.55 USD / 17,458.55 USD |
| Profit factor / trade count | 1.24 / 245 |
| Win rate / winning and losing trades | 27.76% / 68 winners, 177 losers |
| Maximum relative equity drawdown | 39.74% (2,400.21 USD at that relative-DD event) |
| Maximum monetary equity drawdown | 4,491.35 USD (21.52% at that monetary-DD event) |
| History quality / ticks | 99% / 145,069,618; modeling mode not explicitly stated |
| Costs recorded in deals | 0.00 USD commission; -1,004.45 USD total swap. Complete spread schedule not separately stated. |
This configuration fails the default Custom Max gate. Maximum relative equity DD is 39.74%, above the 35% threshold. OnTester returned -1e100 despite positive net profit. The 21.52% figure is a different drawdown measure and must not replace 39.74%. This is a documented historical example, not a qualified Smooth Equity set or independently verified forward result.
The balance curve above uses 246 balance points from 491 original report rows: the initial deposit and 245 closed trades. Unchanged entry balances are omitted. Each plotted balance matches the report; initial 5,000.00 USD plus net 12,458.55 USD equals final 17,458.55 USD. Balance is not floating equity.

Choose Custom max in the tester to use the EA’s ranking. Smooth Equity is the default mode; Net Profit is an alternative. Both apply the minimum 40-trade and maximum 35% relative-equity-DD gates. Smooth Equity also evaluates positive profit, sufficient daily samples, rising-equity linearity, positive balance windows, stagnation and underwater depth. These are optimizer ranking rules, not live drawdown protection.
Optimize a few related settings at a time, keep risk fixed, inspect neighboring configurations and reserve an untouched forward period. Displacement body size, EMA period, hours and fixed lot are inactive when their respective switches/modes are off. Embedded OPT suggestions do not automatically set the tester Start/Step/Stop fields.

Installation and licensing
- Copy the EX5 to MQL5/Experts, refresh Navigator and attach it to the intended broker symbol.
- Load the supplied SET, then verify M15 signal timeframe, broker-specific limits and the magic number.
- Enter the EA020 license key and allow WebRequest to https://ea-lab.dev in MT5.
- Enable Algo Trading and check LICENSE ACTIVE. Strategy Tester runs in TESTER MODE without online activation.
The shared EA LAB license service supports two MT5 account/server combinations per purchased license. Checks occur at startup and about every 24 hours; an accepted identity can use up to 72 hours of connectivity-failure grace. An explicit rejection clears cached acceptance and blocks new entries.
FAQ
Why does my M5 chart show M15 in the EA panel?
The supplied SET selects InpSignalTF=M15. The display/tester period does not override the independent signal timeframe.
Will loading my SET change the magic number?
Yes. The supplied SET/report use 5505019, while the source default is 5505020. Use a unique magic number per instance on the same symbol, and avoid other trading on that symbol on netting accounts.
Why is a profitable test rejected?
Custom Max applies trade and relative-equity-DD requirements. This particular test has 39.74% DD versus the default 35% ceiling. The -1e100 score means rejected configuration, not its cash trading result.
Does a SETUP label guarantee an entry?
No. FVG confirmation, eligible retracement and all execution filters are still required. See Experts/Journal for licensing and order-rejection messages.
Is this a verified live or forward result?
No. The shown results and trades are from the supplied historical MT5 report. This publication uses the owner-supplied EX5; it does not claim an independent recompile, fresh tester run or live activation test.
Version and risk disclosure
v1.01: EA020 identity, shared licensing, CLEAN native chart, bounded execution badges and Smooth Equity Custom Max. Strategy rules and parameter identifiers were retained; supplied EX5 and SET remain unchanged.
Historical returns are not forecasts. Broker prices, spread, costs, fills, instrument specifications and settings can materially change outcomes. Review losing streaks and drawdown as carefully as profit and validate independently before live use.
