How to start with a free MT5 robot

  1. Choose rules you understand. Review the robot’s entry logic, exits, account requirements and manual.
  2. Get the package from its official product page. Follow the listed download and activation process. Free availability does not remove the EA LAB license requirements.
  3. Install the EX5 in MT5. Use our installation and troubleshooting instructions, and review any supplied SET before loading it.
  4. Run a reproducible baseline. Record the version, broker symbol, dates, modeling mode and costs using the MT5 backtesting checklist.
  5. Challenge the result. Examine equity drawdown and trade samples, preserve unseen data and validate on demo. Read how to interpret a backtest report and how to avoid overfitting.

Free MT5 robot questions answered

Which free MT5 EA is best?

There is no universally best EA. Compare strategy rules, exposure, account compatibility and evidence under your own trading conditions. A high historical profit figure alone is insufficient. Our Expert Advisor evaluation checklist provides a structured comparison.

Are these free trials?

These four MT5 products are currently listed with a zero software purchase price. Review each product’s current availability, license terms and included files. The wider EA LAB catalogue also contains paid products.

Are free downloads open source?

No. EA LAB’s standard robot package supplies a compiled EX5. The MQ5 source is not part of the standard customer download. Do not confuse a zero purchase price with an open-source license.

Can I use the same file in MT4, TradingView or cTrader?

An EX5 is for MetaTrader 5. It is not an MT4, TradingView or cTrader program. Where offered, adaptations are separate products with their own scope and purchase terms.

Does a free trading robot guarantee profit?

No. Automated trading can lose money. Backtests describe particular data, settings and assumptions; they do not establish future returns. Read the risk disclosure and start with research and demo testing.
